Cultural Competency Group

Description:

    • Train public and non-profit sector providers and educators all over NH
    • Work with existing coalitions to improve effectiveness with clients from all cultures
    • Develop leadership in minority populations
    • Facilitate networking about cultural competency and diversity across NH and regionally
    • Assist in eliminating barriers to services.

List of Services:

The Cultural Competency Group offers a wide array of services, including:

    • Facilitation to shift awareness, skills, policies, resources, images, and more so your agency is better able to serve the needs of NH's increasingly diverse population
    • Organizational cultural competency assessment, report, and recommendations
    • Workshops
    • Effective communication and workplace interactions across cultural lines
    • Ongoing education of staff, volunteers, and board on specific service or outreach needs of NH co-cultures
    • Communicating effectively when using interpreters

Cultural Competency Consulting:

NH Minority Health Coalition consultants can help your staff develop and implement the following:

  • Strategic plan for cultural competency
  • Systems for collecting input about cultural appropriateness of services from consumers and co-cultural leaders
  • Organizational structure to support cultural competency
  • Connection with NH cultural communities
  • Job descriptions and performance reviews that reflect cultural competencies
  • Recruitment and retention of volunteers, staff, and board from NH's cultural communities
  • Skills in communicating and connecting with clients and colleagues from many cultures
