HIV Prevention Program

Program Description

Our goal is to eliminate health disparities with regards to HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment in racial and ethnic minority populations in NH.

Know Your Status

The New Hampshire Minority Health Coalition offers culturally competent HIV prevention services with the goal of preventing the spread of HIV/AIDS in ethnically diverse members of the population in the state of New Hampshire.

Facts About HIV/AIDS
  • Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) is spread to individuals who have unprotected contact with the blood, semen, anal or vaginal fluids or breastmilk of an infected individual.
  • This is the virus that causes Auto Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS).
  • Currently, there is no cure for AIDS.
  • There are medications that can help slow the virus' ability to multiply in the body, but they have side effects.
  • You can not tell a person is infected with HIV/AIDS by looking at them.
  • It is very important to know your own HIV status.
  • GET TESTED, if you have been exposed to someone else's body fluids (blood, semen, anal or vaginal secretions).
